APPCB AWARENESS SESSION ON E-WASTE

Tirupathi, Mana News, 19.04.2025: As per the Andhra Pradesh Government’s directive, the third Saturday of every month is observed as Swachh Andhra Day under the Swarna Andhra program; the theme for April 19th, 2025, is ‘Awareness on E-Waste Management. Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board organized a significant awareness program on E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 and Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited, Karakambadi facility on today as a program sponsor. The initiative aimed to promote responsible disposal and recycling of electronic and battery waste in alignment with environmental sustainability goals. The event was inaugurated by Smt. Narapureddy Maurya, I.A.S., Commissioner, Tirupati Municipal Corporation, in the presence of Mr. S.S.S Murali, SE & Mr. Rajashekar, EE from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Mr. C Narasimhulu Naidu, COO Amara Raja Energy and Mobility Limited and the participants from industrial representatives from Tirupati region, emphasizing the collective responsibility towards environmental stewardship. Smt. Narapureddy Maurya, I.A.S., Commissioner, Tirupati Municipal Corporation, spoken on E waste handling done by industries are better when compared to domestic E-waste collection, on which tirupati municipal commission will take up few strategic decisions to handle domestic E- waste and on this seek Amaraja support going forward. This initiative was conducted under the “E-Check” theme of the Swarna Andhra Swachh Andhra program which initiated by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Which aims to strengthen environmental compliance and cleanliness in Andhra Pradesh. The event also included demonstrations, awareness sessions, and interactive discussions with industry stakeholders to foster sustainable waste management practices.
